Flavors with memory

In the Palácio das Artes in Porto, DOP was founded in 2010, Chef Rui Paula's first restaurant. The Chef's desire was for this to become a space of joy, sharing, conviviality and, to improve it, a kitchen that brought back childhood memories. Now, the space has been renovated since May. This project, by Porto architect Sérgio Rebelo, allowed the restaurant to gain a new concept, and even new lettering, now written in lowercase – dop.

Chef Rui Paula, who never refused to innovate and follow trends, is now betting on a new menu, with flavors that remind us of the food of our childhood. The most striking feature of this new menu is the roast chicken with chicken rice - the nickname “arroz merendeiro”, which arrives at the table in a picnic basket -, or the dessert of marshmallows with caramel and chocolate sauce, finished at the table.

The entrance is now next to the bar, where we can see the new decoration in shades of red and mirrors everywhere. The tables arranged across the two floors guarantee a more intimate and private environment, and the new DJ booth promises fun, which can continue until after dinner, on Friday and Saturday nights. With a new concept that brings together dishes full of creativity, great cocktails, and good music, dop promises to provide moments of great joy and excitement.
