1904. Louis Cartier granted a wish to the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont: to be able to tell the time while flying. Thus was born one of the first wristwatches, which sealed the bond of friendship between the two pioneers. The rounded corners of the dial, the perfect curve of the wings, and the visible screws came together to form an iconic watch that would go on to inspire countless reinterpretations.
