The 70s impresses with its retro design, sophisticated mechanics and exquisite craftsmanship.

The square stainless-steel case, with its gently rounded corners, hints at its connection to the Seventies family, albeit in a smaller format: the 70s measures 39 x 39 mm and is just 9.6 mm thick. The dial of this retro-modern model was painstakingly crafted in-house. It features a delicate hexagonal pattern on the surface, which lends the dial texture and depth. The name ‘Tweed Amp’ is inspired by the coarse, brown fabric covers of the famous amplifiers that have been the first choice of great blues musicians for decades. The hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, crafted from solid red gold, add warm accents and create a fascinating contrast to the cool sheen of the stainless-steel case.

The model is available with either a stainless-steel bracelet or a beige rubber strap featuring a subtle embossed pattern. Both metal bracelet and rubber strap are fitted with Glashütte Original’s patented Groove Lock System, which is used here for the first time. It consists of a specially developed connecting element on the case and a matching clasp, both of which can be swapped without the need for tools. This allows the bracelet or strap to be changed in the blink of an eye and adapted to suit any occasion.

A sapphire crystal case back offers an unobstructed view of the intricate finishing of the movement. The in-house Caliber 36-11 at the heart of this 70s model was designed as a modern automatic movement that achieves truly remarkable feats within a very compact space. With a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and an outstanding running time of at least 100 hours, it is characterized by its high precision, reliability and robustness. One of the reasons for this is the silicon balance spring, which makes the timepiece resistant to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations.
