The 70s impresses with its retro design, sophisticated mechanics and exquisite craftsmanship.

The square stainless-steel case, with its gently rounded corners, hints at its connection to the Seventies family, albeit in a smaller format: the 70s measures 39 x 39 mm and is just 9.6 mm thick. This sporty timepiece is limited to 500 pieces. Its ‘Vinyl Record’ dial echoes the satin-matt black of a vinyl record and features a subtle hexagrid pattern. This creates vibrant light reflections and a fascinating visual depth. The obelisk-shaped hour and minute hands, as well as the slender seconds hand, appear particularly sharp and three-dimensional thanks to their precise cut and finish. The hour and minute hands, like the hour markers, are crafted from solid white gold.

Each watch is presented in a set comprising two straps. The straps, made of stainless steel and black rubber, feature a functional innovation: The patented ‘Groove Lock System’ from Glashütte Original, which finds its first application in the 70s, comprises an innovative connecting element for the case as well as a specially designed clasp. Both of them can be easily changed without tools, which means that the strap can be swapped whenever the mood strikes.

The mechanics inside this watch are an experience in themselves. The in-house Caliber 36-10 was designed as a modern automatic movement and has been rhodium-plated in black to match the matt black color of the dial. With a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and a running time of 100 hours, it is characterized by its high precision and reliability. The silicon balance spring is resistant to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations, making it perfectly suited to modern everyday life.
