Omega and Swatch have teamed up to bring the new MoonSwatch to life. An unexpected collaboration that promises to take watchmaking fans into space.
The Moonswatch collection is the result of an unusual partnership between Omega and Swatch and consists of 11 watches that recreate the proportions and design of the famous Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, in a BioCeramic case (Swatch’s proprietary material composed of ⅔ of ceramic and ⅓ of plastic of biological origin) and with quartz movement.
The 11 variations of the new MoonSwatch correspond to a specific planetary object and each version is called a “Mission”. So, there is the Mission to Mercury, Mission to the Moon, Mission to Mars, etc. Each combination is unique to the celestial body it represents. Highlight for the model dedicated to the Moon, which presents itself as the most similar to the Omega Moonwatch, and for the version linked to Mars, which is inspired by an Omega prototype made for NASA, in 1972. On the other hand, all models use a very creative solution to cover the battery, through an image of the planetary object on which it is inspired.
