1902. David Jaime Kolinski
Born in Poland, David Jaime Kolinski, begins his career as a watchmaker. At the beginning of the ’30’s of the 20th Century, he receives an offer from friends to come work in Portugal, beginning his activity in a small space in the steps of Avenue Duque de Ávila in Lisbon. After contacting other national elements in the watchmaking world, he began visiting international fairs: his first importations were alarm clocks and wall clocks, eventually importing wrist watches as well. Establishing his first office on Road Cavaleiro de Oliveira, becoming simultaneously, importer, seller, administrator, and watchmaker.
1977. Salomon Assumes Direction of the Company
Following his father’s death, Salomon Kolinski, at the age of 18, assumes the direction of the company, and for the first time engages in publicity promotions for its brands.
1984/85. Acquisitions of New Brands
Group Kolinski reinforces its positioning on the market, providing the company with the possibility of representing new brands.
1990. Birth of Tempus International
A time of strong growth in the watchmaking segment. Tempus International is born, emerging from the alliance amongst the implementation efforts in the Portuguese market by some prestigious and world-renown Swiss brands – Longines, Gucci, and Balmain – alongside the knowledge and tradition that the Kolinski family acquired over 40 years of activity in the watchmaking sector, and the confidence of the consumer in the retail sector.
1995. Fundamental Mark
Fundamental mark in the history of Tempus International, after being selected by Swatch Group SMH to commercialize in Portugal it’s most important brands: OMEGA, RADO, TISSOT and SWATCH.
1997. First Store Opening
The Kolinski Group, with the objective of initiating a project in watch retailing, opens its first experimental store in the Boutique dos Relógios network, in the most promising commercial space of our country, Colombo Shopping Center.
1998/99. Two New Store Openings
Opened in October, the following Boutique dos Relógios store in the Norteshopping. On the 24th of August 1999, the following Boutique dos Relógios store is opened in the CascaiShopping.
2001. A New Boutique Concept
A new concept is born, directed at the more demanding consumer: Boutique dos Relógios Plus. These premium stores, specialized in high watchmaking and luxury, provides the customer with prestigious brands such as: Breguet, Blancpain, Cartier, IWC, Breitling, Chanel, and are located in prestigious shopping centers in Lisbon: Amoreiras Shopping Center (13 August), Colombo Shopping Center (24 November). These stores provide a specialized library with books on watchmaking where you may consult the latest news of the national and international markets, as well as a watchmaker specialized in mechanical watchmaking and watch restoration. Here you may also find one of the largest collection of watch cases in Europe.
2011. Tissot with Boutique dos Relógios
After inaugurating their store in Paris, on the famous Champs-Elysées, Tissot, selects Lisbon, or more precisely, the commercial area with the most customer transit – Colombo Shopping Center for its single brand store. The opening of the new store occurred on the 22nd of August.
2012. Opening of the 1st Store on the Liberdade Avenue
Containing 270 m2, it is a location where high watchmaking and jewelry have a distinctive space where you may find original pieces, sophisticated and exclusive, alongside a surprising amount of unique luxury accessories, including an area entirely dedicated to top of the line national products.
2015. Art Avenue Inauguration
20 August of this year, the ART avenue is inaugurated, a new space that promises to revolutionize the concept of high watchmaking in Portugal. The path begins immediately at the entrance of the store, where an imposing candelabrum designed by the Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos commands the hearts of art lovers. Created exclusively for Boutique dos Relógios Plus, the Mobile of Time translates into a synergistic candelabrum, with two large pointers (minutes and seconds) suspended and parallel to the ceiling, sustaining two crochet knitted arms illuminated by dozens of LED lights.
In the new Boutique dos Relógios Plus, exclusivity rules. Beginning with unique pieces of art, created exclusively for the new space, alongside special high watchmaking pieces, limited and unique this concept store positions itself at the epitome of luxury.
Much more than a store dedicated to the commercialization of timepieces, jewels, and other luxury accessories, this new space assumes itself as a concept store, where works of art openly collaborate with luxury pieces, the pieces themselves works of art in their essence as well. A true gallery of art, the new Boutique dos Relógios Plus on the Liberdade Avenue invites a trip through the universe of masterpieces from various artistic areas. The path begins immediately at the entrance of the store, where an imposing candelabrum designed by the Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos commands the hearts of art lovers.
The exposition of works of art by Portuguese artists continues into the interior of the new 260 m2 space, through photography, paintings, sculptures, and even street art. Coming to an end filled with high watchmaking articles, high jewelry, and luxury accessories, themselves artistic objects through the minute, singular, and exclusive care in their creation.
